Summer Family Vacations In Stunning Lanzarote
As the summer approaches, more and more people are thinking of spending the sunny season abroad. After all, who wants to stay in Britain during summer? Naturally, the most popular destination for Uk tourists is still Spain with its Canaries, Balearics and Costas.
Lanzarote is the eastern most of the Canaries – which makes it the closest of these seven islands to the African continent. The location provides excellent weather which falls between summer and winter and flights to Lanzarote are readily available at any time from all UK airports with flights times a measly four hours. With the return trip costing around €100, the holiday island is one of the most attractive of all.
A wide range of hotel choices is also available, providing tourists with the best accommodations possible. Accommodation is never a problem either as the island has plenty of Lanzarote villas available for rent in all of the main resorts and towns across the island, as well as in the countryside too.
The fact that the Lanzarote island is a bit small means that tourists will have the time to explore the area. Lanzarote car rental is an excellent way to get around the island to see the sights, rental costs are very cheap plus some roads seem totally devoid of traffic..
So what are the best sites one can explore? They say that life?s a beach and that is certainly true on Lanzarote as there are close to one hundred stretches of sand for tourists to enjoy. Golden sand is sprinkled all over the area instead of the usual black sand found in the Canary Islands. This is actually unusual as the island is more volcanic that other areas. Black sand is also available around El Golfo and Playa Quemeda should tourists want to sample the area.
The local artist C?sar Manrique has also contributed his talents in making the surrounding buildings more pleasing. The white buildings contrast with the black picon – volcanic chippings – which are used as mulch for brightly coloured flowers and plants which together combine to make the island a real pleasure to explore.
The north part of the island shows the flora side of the environment. This is where the Valley of 1000 Palms can be found, born of the tradition that every child born marks the planting of a tree. One will find that every Sunday, a wide array of merchandise are available at Teguise although routine sales are also available every week.
