Summer Breaks In Exquisite Lanzarote
With the summer holiday season coming nearer, many people are turning their thoughts to vacations abroad. After all, who wants to stay in Britain during summer time? And as usual Spain remains just about the most popular destinations for British tourists, along with the Costas, the Balearics and the Canaries all eager for business.
Lanzarote is the eastern most of the Canaries – making it the closest of these seven islands to the African continent. It offers both winter and summer sun, thanks to it?s incredibly clement year round climate and Lanzarote Flights are readily available at any time from all UK airports with flights times a measly four hours. The fact that the returns only cost around €100 also makes the place more tourist-friendly.
Aside from the charming weather, accommodations in Lanzarote is also up to par with some of the best hotels. Accommodation is never a problem either as the island has plenty of villas in Lanzarote to book for those who want self catering accommodation for a more private vacation.
Since Lanzarote is pretty small, individuals can have an easy time exploring the area. car hire in Lanzarote is also an excellent idea as the traffic is virtually non-existent, not to mention the fact that car rental is also very cheap so there is no excuse to get out and explore.
So what are the best sites one can explore? Lanzarote boasts of some of the best beaches with stretches of sand for the tourist. Golden sand is sprinkled all over the area instead of the usual black sand found in the Canary Islands. This is perhaps a little strange as Lanzarote is in fact more volcanic than say Tenerife, having experienced eruptions as recently as 300 years ago. There are a couple of black sand beaches though at Playa Quemada and El Golfo though should visitors want to sample sunbathing here.
The buildings on Lanzarote are also visually pleasing thanks to local artist C?sar Manrique. The combination of plants and flowers in while buildings have created a wonderful array of colors in the island.
The north part of the island shows the flora side of the environment. Within this area is the Valley of 1000 Palms where an ongoing tradition marks the birth of every child by planting of a tree. Market for arts and crafts are also hosted every week, the biggest on Sunday at the former capital, Teguise.
